Right in the middle of Praslin is another highlight of the island. Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, a Unesco World Heritage site and home of the endemic species like the Coco de Mer, the largest seed in the world and foundation for many legends. Look at our images and use your imagination to find out what those could be. On five different hiking trails, you can explore many other indigenous plants, trees and birds, like the endemic black parrot. You must not leave the tracks and except for those, the park is just left in its natural state. The inner part of the park is a place of silence - only birds and the wind can be heard, a really special experience.
At the entrance, you´ll find a cafe, souvenir shop, information centre and toilets. Before you are allowed to enter the park, you have to pay a fee. You can reach Vallée De Mai by car (enough parking space is just opposite the entrance), taxi, or bus.
